Haultain Common

The Haultain Common is a boulevard common garden established in 2007 as a project to build community and food sovereignty on the edge of Oaklands and Fernwood. From an initial start growing annual vegetables, the Haultain Common has become primarily a permaculture food forest and pollination corridor.

Burnside Heritage Mural

The Burnside Heritage Mural is on the walls of a tunnel under Burnside Road on the Galloping Goose Trail in Cecelia Ravine Park. In November 2005, the Burnside Gorge Community Association received a grant through the Community Public Art Program of the City of Victoria. Frank Lewis was commissioned to produce a mural showing scenes of the neighbourhood from its original people to those of today. Cloverdale Paint donated all the paint.

Banfield Commons

Banfield Commons is a permaculture food forest in Banfield Park, located between the tennis courts and the parking lot. This under-utilized piece of parkland was transformed in 2006 to a garden filled with fruit trees/shrubs, perennial and self-sowing annual food plants, and medicinal and culinary herbs.
