The Colwood Garden Society was created in 2014 and operates with the full support of the City of Colwood who donated the land at Colwood City Hall. A not-for-profit, and registered under the Society Act of British Columbia, food security, food distribution and healthy eating are passions, right up there with sustainable, organic gardening.
There are 34 garden plots, 2 designated and designed for those with mobility issues, 2 are allocated to Wishart Elementary School as teaching gardens, and
2 (and all their produce) have been donated to Living Edge, a market-style food distribution centre for those in need.
