Royal BC Museum

The Royal BC Museum is one of Canada’s greatest cultural treasures. The museum was founded in 1886 and the Archives, in 1894; in 2003, these two organizations joined. They collect artifacts, documents and specimens of British Columbia’s natural and human history, protecting them for the future, and sharing them with the world. Through research, the museum strives to broaden understanding about the province and inspire curiosity and wonder. By exploring social and environmental history, the Royal BC Museum advances new knowledge and understanding of British Columbia, and provides a dynamic forum for discussion and reflection. The museum shares BC's history with millions of visitors who visit each year.

The museum also hosts the IMAX Theatre in Victoria as well as a gift shop and cafe. Tickets are as priced here. See what exhibitions are on today!

Hours: 10:00am - 5:00pm daily. Closed Christmas and New Year's Day.
