Shoal Harbour Bird Sanctuary

The Shoal Harbour Migratory Bird Sanctuary is one of Canada's oldest designated Migratory Bird Sanctuaries (MBS). Created in 1931, the MBS encompasses 150 hectares of coastal marine environment. This area provides a shallow marine habitat with tidal mudflats rich in inviting biodiversity for migrating waterfowl, particularly for those that overwinter on the coast of British Columbia.

The nearby Resthaven Park is an excellent point of access for the MBS, providing a great view for bird watchers.

Sidney Museum and Archives

The Sidney Museum has served the community of Sidney and North Saanich since 1971. Run by the Society of Saanich Peninsula Museums, the museum promotes awareness of local heritage through exhibits, programs, and collections. The permanent collection consists of over 6000 items and the museum also features rotating monthly exhibits. The temporary exhibits include everything from an annual Quilting display, a Teddy Bear Christmas Display, and the famous 3-month long Lego Exhibit.

BC Aviation Museum

The BC Aviation Museum Society, located next to the Victoria International Airport, is dedicated to preserving aircraft and aviation artefacts. The museum collects, restores and displays aircraft and artefacts related to the history of aviation in Canada, with emphasis on British Columbia. In the Memorial Room you can find many artefacts from the wars that Canadians fought, either as members of the Royal Canadian Air Force, Royal Flying Corps, or Royal Air Force.
